Dear friends ,
The Nguyens are participating in the Lace Up for Cancer walk to benefit the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Health!
Receiving a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing event and the Cancer Center is here for our community every step of the way. As a hospitalist on the inpatient oncology floor , I see on a daily basis that that life changing event can lead to side effects of treatment, unmanageable pain, and sometimes even grief. I am elated when a patient has been treated by our team and is well enough to be discharged , but as a medical provider, I find one of the hardest facts to accept is that sometimes there are things that we cannot fix.
By participating in this walk and raising funds for the Cancer Center, we will continue to support more than 500 patients per day receive multidisciplinary, specialized care ranging from screenings to diagnostic imaging to groundbreaking clinical trials and access to integrative and supportive therapies. Fundraising efforts will benefit local patients turning to the Cancer Center for cancer care and screening.
By participating in this walk and raising funds for the Cancer Center, maybe I can offer more than just a hand to hold.
Please help me do my part! Click on the DONATE NOW button to help me reach The Hospital Medicine team's fundraising goal.
P.S. I know this isn't a marathon. Marathons require training and that significantly increases my risk of developing rhabdo or being eaten by a bear in the woods. DONATE NOW please :)
