On March 2, 2022, we got the scariest news that that my husband had been diagnosed with tonsil cancer and our life was turned upside down. My previously healthy husband was now faced with a barrage of testing, biopsies, blood work and scans followed by doctor's appointments to find out the best plan for treatment. After 7 weeks, 33 radiation treatments, over 40 pounds lost, narrowly avoiding a feeding tube and working full-time through it all, he finished his treatment and has been cancer free since. We would not have gotten through this rough journey without the fabulous team we had at the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health. We were lucky that we had such great care available to us so close to home and want to give back to those facing a diagnosis like we had experienced. We are forever grateful to the care we received especially from Dr. Itali Pashtan, Dr. Hani Ibrahim, Denise Eames RN, the team of radiation therapists and nutritionists for all the care they provided to us during such a difficult time.
Join us in our effort to raise money for the Lace Up for Cancer walk to benefit the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Health!
