Team South Shore Health Boston Marathon 2020 Application

 

Thank you for your interest in running the 124th Boston Marathon on April 20, 2020, with Team South Shore Health! We have developed a comprehensive program to support you in your training and fundraising and are excited to read your application.

We have a limited number of race entries. Please allow for 20-30 minutes to complete your Team South Shore Health application. Before starting, we recommend you outline your fundraising plan as this is an integral component of your application. Team South Shore Health runners raised an average of $12,035 for the 2019 Boston Marathon.

Team members will be selected based on the responses provided in the application and the phone interview. Each application is carefully reviewed, and we select those who we feel will be the best fit for the team. We look for runners who have a strong connection to the causes represented by the team and a solid plan to exceed the fundraising minimum. Applications will also be evaluated on running experience, past race participation, and past fundraising results.

The application deadline is Thursday, October 31, 2019. Team selection will be finalized in early November and applicants will be notified of their team status at that time.

Once the team is complete, some runners who have not been accepted initially will be wait-listed for a spot on the team. If a team member withdraws from the team, a wait-listed runner will be invited to join.

Important note: Our fundraising minimum is $9,000, for a non-qualified marathon runner, with preference made to those who can commit to a higher goal. For qualified athletes with their own B.A.A. bib number we suggest a fundraising goal of $1,000.

Being a member of Team SSH is a five-month commitment designed to ensure your training and fundraising success. Attendance at a minimum of two of the first three training runs and participation in monthly team meetings/ calls is expected. Commitment and engagement are the criteria for selection to the team.
